All RCCI Volt Meters

  All Rocketman Volt Meters are converted to state of the art circuitry. These are not repaired or rebuilt meters - the only original parts used are the dial, case and pointer. Unless you request otherwise they are calibrated to read centered at 12.5VDC, so you can tell at a glance what your charging system is doing - to the right of center is charging, to the left of center indicates discharge. Meters with volt faces are calibrated to the highest marked value.

  • Volt meter works with all 12 volt charging systems - original, 1 wire, internal regulator, external regulator, etc.
  • The pointer will NOT be centered like an Amp gauge without power. When unpowered the needle will sweep far left.
  • Volt meters are built to display normal OEM voltage (13.2-13.8 volts) to right of center, less (discharge) to left.
  • Pointers are repainted to original color. Normally bright white or 'fluorescent red' that looks like the pointer did when new.
  • Ammeter conversion and prices are for OEM ammeters only - NOT new aftermarket ammeters. I do not convert aftermarket meters.

  • All of my new products come with a lifetime repair or replace warranty. As long as you own it I will stand behind it.
    Just send it back to me with a note telling me what the problem is and I will take care of it.
    Used parts have a 1 year replacement warranty.
    Orders within the state of Texas will have 6.25% state sales tax added to their order.

    G1XV - Volt Meter for 1967-1968 Mercury Cougar XR7

    The G1XV is the Amp meter from a 67 or 68 XR7 converted to read volts. It has a new overlay that duplicates the original -60 / +60 amp scale, but has been modified to read 10 / 15 on a volt scale.

  • The G1XV also comes with a small 'Volts' label that you can apply to the gauge hood if desired. If you want me to remove the AMPS etching from the ammeter lens, include the G1XL service below with your order.

    M6566V - Ammeter conversion to Volt Meter for 1965 GT and all 1966 Ford Mustangs

    The M6566V is an OEM type Amp meter from a 65 GT or 66 Mustang converted to read volts. It uses the original amp scale, but has been modified to indicate charge/discharge by voltage. If you want a face that shows volts, select the M6566VO listed below.

    • Bolts in just like the factory ammeter
    • Draws less than 0.1A
    • Includes easy to follow wiring instructions

      NOTES:
    • If ordering 'without a core' Please let me know if you need the 1966 shunt type with two studs on the back or the 1965 inductive loop type with a metal ring on the back.
    • Aftermarket ammeters are NOT suitable cores for the two post shunt type ammters. You must supply an OEM ammeter. The pictures below show the front and back of an OEM type ammeter suitable for conversion.

    M6566VO - Volt Meter for 1965 GT and all 1966 Ford Mustangs

    The M6566VO is an OEM Ammeter from a 65 or 66 Mustang converted to read volts. Instead of the original ammeter face it shows volts to indicate the higher voltages of the newer charging systems.

    Volt Meters for Cyclones, Torinos and Others

    I can convert most other 67-79 Ford and Mercury Amp meters to read volts. Although not refaced with a volt scale, these meters are calibrated to read centered at 12.5VDC, so you can tell at a glance what your charging system is doing - to the right of center is charging, to the left of center indicates discharge. If you would like the pointer set to a certain reading as a specific voltage let me know when ordering. (Converted meter shown is a 66 Mercury Cyclone)

  • Candidates for conversion must have the deep metal case. The shallow case from a Fuel, Temp or Oil gauge will NOT work, nor will the open case style. Please refer to the 'Core Charges' page for pictures of an acceptable case.

    Custom Volt Meters

    I can convert some pre 67 ammeters not listed above to read volts.
    Mostly Ford products, but some GMs as well.
    None have artwork changes and are calibrated to read centered at 12.5VDC, so you can tell at a glance what your charging system is doing - to the right of center is charging, to the left of center indicates discharge. If you would like the pointer set to a certain reading as a specific voltage let me know when ordering.

  • Candidates for conversion must have space behind the meter when installed. This is to allow a movement to mounted to the back of the gauge. The shallow cases and open frame Mopar type will NOT work.

    IMPORTANT: Before ordering, it is advisable that you send me some pictures of the meter to be converted so I can verify that it can be done. Pictures should be taken with the gauge out of the cluster and include front, side and back views. Gauges sent in without prior verification that cannot be converted will be returned and your order refunded less $5.00 and shipping charges.

    Estimated return ship dates for custom conversions are a best guess due to the extra time required and are not on a first come first served basis.
    I fit them in when I can and standard conversions have precedence.
